Making Gingerbread Men
Introduction
What to do on wet Sunday ?
Well apart from making bird-feeders cooking is always a good option. I found a good recipe online for gingerbread men.
Materials
- Flour
- Light brown sugar
- Egg
- Ginger
- Golden Syrup
- Bicarbonate of soda
- Butter
Ingredients
Weigh out the ingredients. (Let the adult do this part), then wash hands and prepare for flour being everywhere and fun!
Mixing
Add well everything apart from the egg and butter. Mix. Then add the egg and butter.
Roll and Cut
Careful concentration is required for rolling out the mixture and cutting out the shapes. See videos below:-
Hot, Hot, Hot
Now place the nicely prepared gingerbread shapes in to the oven for 15 minutes.
Whilst waiting
Just because we are cooking, does not mean we can not continue mixing.
Tidy up and pack away ready for use another day
