Making a Bird-feeder

Introduction

What to do on wet Sunday ?

Thank-you Cbeebies - make a bird-feeder.

Materials

  • Monkey Nuts
  • Ready prepared nuts
  • Lard
  • Grapefruit
  • String

Step 1 - Bash

The first step, maybe the really fun part is shelling the monkey nuts. Shell the monkey nuts by bashing, then make the nuts smaller by (you guessed it) bashing.

Basically - bash them!

 

Step 2 - Scoop

Scoop out the grapefruit to get a nice edible (Humans not birds) contents. Bird Feeder

 

Step 3 - String

Place the string through the skin of the grapefruit (or melon as Connor likes to call it). Ideally, unlike ours, have it so that it hangs with the hole at the top.

 

Step 4 - Mixing

Mix the bashed monkey nuts, add some of the extra ready prepared nuts with lard (not be be mistaken for butter).

 

Step 5 - Stuff

Just stuff the mixture in.

 

Step 5 - Admire it!

Admire your wonderful creation.

Then hang it out side.

Wait for the birds to turn up.
