World Domination - Postponed
Blog Entry on the Monday 08th, December, 2008
World domination.... [1] [2] [3] [4] [5].... Postponed.Did not get the job. The best man won - well done Mr John Dempster. Looks like I will have to call you boss (Again). Seriously well done John - he is a good friend, nice bloke and a damn good boss. The twenty-nine years experience in traffic control is a lot of knowledge. A.C.E. (Acting Chief Engineer) is now just plain R.C.E. real Chief Engineer. I am happy to buy you a beer next Friday.
Also got some initial feedback, looks like I got my tactics wrong for the presentation, but did well on the interview questions. Lots of good positive things to take away and some really good detailed feedback, both professionally and for the maybe the next opportunity.
Anyway I am being an adult and definitely not sulking, at all, no way, no sulking here please move along.
Congratulations to Mark Cracknell - just seen the photo of the scan on facebook.

BBC Journalism at its best
Blog Entry on the Monday 15th, December, 2008
One of the best pieces of Journalism I have watched; Back From The Front. I have a copy on DVD for overseas people with the BBC's iPlayer or try google. This edition of Newsnight will win awards, the BBC at its best. Very moving, insightful, though-provoking and touching.

Determine - Alpha-Alpha-Alpha
Blog Entry on the Tuesday 30th, December, 2008
I have been playing with a new project, something I may call Determine. Currently as at very early stage (pun intended).Determine is to determine the timing of a traffic signal site, in particular produce a nice diagram.
From the command line:
python ./libdetermine.py --type=./traffic-signal-types.xml --site=./example-site-2.xml --output=/tmp/diagram.xml --png=/tmp/diagram.png
Python and XML! The next task is to try and get the (traffic) stage reporting correct, but it is always nice to be able to post an actual simple diagram at this early stage.
